Liberia

Following the end to its 14-year civil war in 2003, Liberia has made important development progress. Government policy makers have made rebuilding the country a priority, and though the consequences of conflict continue to be felt, recovery efforts have begun to make an impact. Despite this progress, young people in Liberia still face hard challenges such as lack of schooling, etc. Damaged social and economic infrastructures are a key challenge to Liberia’s continued development, and as Liberia’s youth become adults, they will hold the responsibility to rebuild their country. Giving Liberia’s future leaders the tools to do so is the goal of Leadership Africa USA’s work in Liberia.
