Senegal

Senegal is a West African country that has made important progress in recent years. A developing democracy, Senegal has a tradition of multi-party politics and peaceful transfers of power. The government has made development a priority, and Senegal is currently on track to meet the Millennium Development Goals on achieving universal primary education and reducing child mortality. However, Senegal continues to face challenges. Improving primary school completion rates and helping girls achieve equal educational opportunities are two of the main priorities in working to improve Senegal’s educational outcomes.
